I’m willing to make a confession…I have an addiction. I can’t make it all week without getting a delicious Vanilla Starbucks frappuccino. The tasty smooth coffee drink that isn’t really a coffee drink can make a bad day better or a good day stellar!
I’ve been doing my best to save money and figuring out how to make a homemade version of this makes me feel like I’ve saved my wallet.
Ingredients:
8 cups of Brewed Coffee
(I used Folgers Classic Roast. 8 cups=$.37)
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
(I’m trying to save some calories so I used the fat free Eagle Brand. 14oz can=$2.58)
1 Tbsp Vanilla
(Mexican vanilla is my favorite. 1 Tbsp=$.12)
It really is as easy as three ingredients! Mix everything together while the coffee is still hot. Place it in the fridge the day before you’d like to serve it. Enjoy!!

Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Suddenly the little blocks that make up LEGOs seemingly so simple can turn into castles and people and animals of huge proportions! I recently read this article that Yahoo News ran (view the full article here) about a boy who disobeyed his dad and lost a LEGO minifigure that he’d been saving his Christmas money for. The young boy emailed LEGO and got the best customer service response i’ve seen in a very long time.
“Luka, I told Sensei Wu that losing your Jay minifigure was purely an accident and that you would never ever ever let it happen ever again.
He told me to tell you, “Luka, your father seems like a very wise man. You must always protect your Ninjago minifigures like the dragons protect the Weapons of Spinjitzu!”
Sensei Wu also told me it was okay if I sent you a new Jay and told me it would be okay if I included something extra for you because anyone that saves their Christmas money to buy the Ultrasonic Raider must be a really big Ninjago fan.
So, I hope you enjoy your Jay minifigure with all his weapons. You will actually have the only Jay minifigure that combines 3 different Jays into one! I am also going to send you a bad guy for him to fight!
Just remember, what Sensei Wu said: keep your minifigures protected like the Weapons of Spinjitzu! And of course, always listen to your dad.”
While this response in an of itself just makes you smile, depending on how generous you’re feeling, it also restores a little bit of your faith in corporate companies.
I couldn’t get this out of my mind as i’ve been going through my quiet time lately. What would happen if we as Christians approached life and all of the people that we interact with on a daily basis with the same sense of stellar customer service? How would your interaction change with that car that steals the parking spot you were waiting for? What about after you’ve just stood in line waiting to buy your groceries and they shut down the cashier at the person before you? How would neighborly interactions change?
John 12:26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
What is one life-change you could make to provide fantastic Christian customer service?

I have to admit, I’m one of those people that LOVES the fall and enjoy the tastes that come with it. I love the smells and sights, but most of all my favorite is everything pumpkin! Regardless of the time of year this is an amazing, healthy treat!
What you’ll need:
1 cup of Greek Yogurt
1 cup of Pumpkin Puree
1 tbsp Sugar or Honey
1 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
2-3 tbsp Skim Milk
How to make this tasty treat:
1. The easiest way is to put all of the ingredients into your ice cream maker and mix well.
Alternative option:
1. If there’s no ice cream maker in sight, it’s time to be a little more creative. Put the first 6 ingredients together in a food processor or bowl and mix really well. Trust me – you don’t want a big bunch of the pumpkin pie spice!
2. Spoon the mixture into a bag and lay flat in the freezer. Freeze time will be roughly 2-3 hours.
3. After it’s frozen take out the bag and break the froyo apart.
4. Toss the broken up frozen pieces into a food processor or blender, adding the Skim Milk as needed, mix well.
If you’re happy with the consistency after one try, I recommend a spoon and a cup of coffee. If it’s not quite what you were thinking, repeat step two with the newly blended mixture.
This is such a wonderful, easy treat. You can adapt the recipe for any kind of puree or add in your favorite toppings.
What is your favorite healthy dessert?
